Visual FX / Special FX
Role The role requires thorough knowledge of 3D Computer Graphics, experienced in doing dynamics, particles, cloth simulation, fluids and/or crowd simulation.
Design and create SFX and post-production work that meets artistic standards.

Experience Required

Responsibilities
To create visually stunning 3D and 2D effects that follow the established style.
To Develop appropriate production workflows and tasks by working with Art Dept.
Ensure shots made are of desire quality standards.
Identifies and collaborates with Post-Production Team to solve technical issues, participates in problem solving and creation of pipeline tools.
Creativity in generating new visual styles, quality and directions.
Maintain an excellent understanding of the tools and software used in Post-production and special FX.
Work with other departments including Technology, Animation, Art and Visualization.
Ensure that meet production deadlines as required by Supervisor and production schedule.
File management – organize work/files efficiently.

Requirements
Degree/diploma in Fine Arts / Engineering or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of entire 3D graphics workflow, particle dynamics and shaders.
Scripting / programming experience in MEL, Python, C and/or C++.
Strong visual sense and subtile differences that affect the matching and look is a plus.
Passion for film, animation and games.
Good Communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Plus
2 – 5 years experience in production, with special effects, post-production and problem solving.
Experience in using Maya / Houdini / Massive / Shake / Nuke / Photoshop.
Experience in creating workflows within the software tools as well as integrating scripts to integrate into pipeline.
Experience with Mental Ray, Mantra, PRMan, RenderMan.

Personality Traits
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of Self – Direction.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure.
