Warner Bros are yet to decide on whether or not to pull from 2 projects which they had entrusted to cash strapped Rhythm & Hues studios. Warner Bros are still assessing whether the studio will be able to complete the vfx of 300: Rise of an Empire and Black Sky. Rhythm & Hues had earlier filed for bankruptcy. Despite all the mess both movie will be released as per schedule. A sequel of 300 will be released on 2nd August 2013 and ‘Black sky” starring Richard Armitage will be released later this year.
The studio has not offered a statement till now.
According to court documents Rhythm & Hues are yet to complete work worth close to $5 million on Warner Bros film. The studio is still working to resolve its issues and pending contracts with the studio. R&H studio has demanded the return of two films from Warner Bros.
20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures has infused $17 millions in Rhythm & Hues that will keep the studio functioning till April 2013. Warner Bros are not offering loan to Rhythm & Hues.
Currently Warner Bros is distributing a medieval adventure film “Seventh Son“ produced by Legendary Pictures. They have contracted with Rhythm and Hues to do its visual effects. It is lending the studio $5 million to complete its work.
Earlier Rhythm and Hue approached Houlihan Lokey , a financial advisory firm to help it find a buyer.
