When and How the Exams Will Run
The UP Board 2026 schedule is now public, and it reads like a tight sprint. Theory papers for both Class 10 and Class 12 kick off in February 2026, split into two daily shifts – 8:30 am to 11:45 am for the morning batch and 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm for the evening crowd. This split‑shift model helps the board juggle the massive roll‑call of students across Uttar Pradesh.
Practical exams start earlier, from January 21 and run until February 5. Giving students a two‑week window means they can focus on hands‑on work without the pressure of theory exams looming right behind them.

Registration, Timetables and Regional Practical Phases
Registration opened already and closes on August 5. Regular students from both streams must file their applications before that deadline; missing it means a missed chance to sit the board.
The official Class 10 timetable will drop in November 2025, following the usual pattern. Once it’s live, students can download it from the board’s portal at upmsp.edu.in.
Practicals for Class 12 are divided into two phases to manage logistics across the state:
- Phase 1: Agra, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Lucknow, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Faizabad, Azamgarh, Devipatan, Basti
- Phase 2: Aligarh, Meerut, Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur
Each region will host its own set of labs and equipment, ensuring students don’t travel far for their practical tests.
On the curriculum side, the board has woven the ‘Learning by Doing’ initiative into government schools. The program pushes teachers to replace rote drills with real‑world projects, aiming to boost students’ confidence before they walk into the exam halls.
Parents and students should keep an eye on the official website for updates on admit cards, any schedule tweaks, and other notifications. With lakhs of candidates expected, the board has promised stringent exam protocols and fair grading, mirroring the standards set in previous years.
